TorfoSCIN powder as Fosfomycin Trometamol is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections, discovered in 1969 and is derived from Streptomyces fradiae and is available as trometamol salt for oral administration. Due to its ease of administration as a single 3-gram oral dose and desirable safety profile, fosfomycin has largely become a first-line therapeutic option for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in females. TorfoSCIN Sachets are broad-spectrum agent - active against antimicrobial-resistant bacterial pathogens including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), multidrug-resistant (MDR) Enterobacteriaceae, and some isolates of MDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Mode of Action
Fosfomycin exerts a bactericidal effect on proliferating pathogens by preventing the enzymatic synthesis of the bacterial cell wall. Fosfomycin inhibits the first stage of intracellular bacterial cell wall synthesis by blocking peptidoglycan synthesis.

Dosage
1. Uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections: one sachet (3g), 2. Uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections: one sachet (3g). Perioperative prophylaxis of urinary tract infections: one 3g sachet 3 hours before the procedure
