renotreat-sachet
Renotreat Sachet as Ketoanalogues of amino acids (KAs) are nitrogen-free analogs of essential amino acids. Renotreat Sachet allows a reduced intake of nitrogen while avoiding the deleterious consequences of inadequate dietary protein intake and malnourishment. Restricted protein diet supplemented with KAs delays the progression of CKD for Stage 3–4 CKD patients who did not enter the maintenance dialysis stage, decreases the formation of urea and prevents the accumulation of uremic toxins, hyperphosphatemia and hyperparathyroidism, and benefit blood pressure control without causing malnutrition.
Mode of Action
Alpha Ketoanalogues are nutritional supplements that works by improving the metabolism of protein in the body, thereby improving the renal function. KAs are precursors of corresponding amino acids since they can undergo a transamination, a chemical reaction that transfers an amino group to a ketoacid to form a new amino acid. Through this conversion, KAs can be utilized in place of their respective EAAs without providing nitrogen products while re-using available nitrogen already in excess during CKD. Ketoacid-containing supplements have a positive influence on the renal hyperphosphatemia and secondary hyperparathyroidism and can improve renal osteodystrophy.
Indications
In Prevention and therapy of damages due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism, chronic renal insufficiency, In patients with a glomerular filtration rate (GFR) below 25 ml/min & Protein energy malnutrition.
Dosage
2-3 Sachets per day during meals.
